Janie Prete's Colors

about Janie Prete

All information, graphics, photographs and designs on this website Copyright 2020 Janie Prete.
Janie's watercolors are created to captivate, dazzle and excite her viewers. Many times she develops her work by mixing watercolors with inks, acrylics or any water media, and or including paper. It's all part of the journey to allow her imagination to give free rein, whether gentle or wild. Portraying a simple subject with energy and drama becomes part of the adventure to complete a painting, and at times not wanting the painting to ever end.

Solo shows as well as group shows and gallery representation have given her many opportunities to interact with viewers of her work. Teaching is an inspiration for her to instill the lost art of using ones imagination which so often lays dormant with the student. Her numerous awards have made her extremely grateful and honored to be able to continue inspiring and pleasing others. Both Johnston County Medical Center in Clayton NC and Johnston County Hospital in Smithfield NC have a permanent collection of her work.

Her work may be seen by appointment at her home studio in Palmyra, VA.

Upon her move to Virginia, she became a member of the Fluvanna Art Association. Her work may also b seen at Sweet Art Emporium in Palmyra VA.
